MR 2012 UR 4- Quirky Excel Linking Behavior with RPO

We had a client bring up an interesting issue last week, after updating MR 2012 to UR4. They use GL and Worksheet links in their row formats like this...

(B=B3, C=C3, D=D3, J=B3, K=C3, L=D3) /RPO

RPO (Row Period Offset), allows you to just specify the cell before period 1...and then it automatically counts (down the rows for RPO, across the colunbs for CPO) to determine balances for period 1, 2, etc.

Columns B, C, D are set to pull PERIODIC (Current Period) balances in the column definition, and J, K, and L are set to YTD.

The spreadsheet look something like this...

Prior to updating, this worked great. Pulling the PERIODIC and YTD balances based on the RPO. But since applying UR4, both sets of columns pull the PERIODIC amount instead of YTD. The only way we can get the YTD columns to work (so far) is to change the Period to 1:BASE (instead of just BASE) and leave it set to YTD.

Will keep you posted as we learn more, but it appears to potentially be a quality report....but let me know if you see any fault in my logic :)

AX 2012 - Dimensiones financieras para las letras de cambio

En los diarios contables es posible definir dimensiones financieras específicas para la Cuenta y para la Cuenta de contrapartida, utilizando el Menú Dimensiones financieras.

Sin embargo, se ha detectado que en el diario de creación de Letras de cambio, la opción para registrar la Cuenta de contrapartida está deshabilitada. Mediante el procedimiento abajo, se consigue activar esa opción.

1. Abre el AOT (Ctrl+D)

2. En el nodo Forms, selecciona la forma LedgerJournalTransCustBillOfExchange

3. Expande:

LedgerJournalTransCustBillOfExchange > Designs > Design > [ActionPane:ActionPane] > [ActionPaneTab:ActionPaneTab] > [ButtonGroup:ButtonGrop] > Select [MenuButton:FinacialDimension] > MenuItemButton:OffsetAccountDimension

4. En la propiedad Visible, definir ‘YES’

Taking Your Financial Reports to the Next Level with Management Reporter – Postings Audit (5 of 8)

The fifth report in the “Taking your Financial Reports to the Next Level with Management Reporter” series is called “Postings Audit.” Entering transactions accurately is important for proper reporting. Transactions should be posted to the correct accounts and dimensions with the correct amounts. The Audit report helps you evaluate how transactions were posted by providing a look a the details for each transaction in a straightforward way.

The Row Definition for the report contain a Dimension Value Set of several accounts that commonly have posting issues. Alternatively, a Row Definition similar to a trial balance containing all natural accounts could be used. The Column Definition contains the month-to-date amounts as well as several columns with specific transaction attributes. These attributes may vary by the Dynamics ERP you use, but for Dynamics GP I used the following:

Transaction Date
Audit Trail Code
Journal Entry
Distribution Reference
Source Document
Series
Originating Master Record Name

Dimension Value Set to display a list of the accounts that should be reviewed.
Transaction attributes to show the journal entry number and other key transaction details.
