SOP - "This document has been posted." Error & Resolution

This one was a real menace for me, to say the least.
One of the Users reported the error message "This document has been posted." for a particular SOP Document.
The following were the observations:
1. This document was never saved in a batch.
2. GP hung at the time of entering this document.
3. The User killed GP session in order to come out of the Hung Session.
4. User confirmed that he did not enter any Batch while creating this Document.
5. Once restarting GP (after the KILL), he entered the SOP Number (which he had noted down) and received this Error Message.
Following this, I first…

Displaying Note Text on a GP Report

I was trying to answer a GP Newsgroup Post, How to add SY03900 table in the Sales Report.
Simplifying the query: Can we display the Note Text for any record (for instance, Customer Note, Vendor Note, Item Note, etc...) on a standard GP report? If so how?
I first suggested to write a RW (Report Writer) function, to pass Note Index as the parameter and return the Note Text from the function. The user replied back, saying that he does not deal with 3rd Party Chunks and he customized the report using Report Modifier. Moreover, he does not have VBA.
Challenge: We are left with only Report Modifier. No new table relationship can be defined. No VBA. No user-defined RW…

Online Services for Dynamics GP - Triggers GP "Add Command" Hanging Indefinitely

I am not sure whether the issue that I am going to explain here has got any relevance to the actual issue that I faced recently. I leave it to readers and consultants out there to second my finding had they faced this before.
Issue: When I tried adding a GP Window to my GP Home Page Quick Links, the Add Command window hung indefinitely, forcing me to kill GP and launch it back.
Troubleshooting: I first ran the Dex Script Log and it was unfortunately inaccessible as GP had to be killed eventually and this file got stuck in between. I then ran SQL Profiler exactly at…
